New Found Gold Corp > buyout of all or only part

buyout of all or only part

I don't have anything new to add to the debate over whether New Found will sell within a year or two, but I note that I have not seen anyone speculate about whether or not they might sell only a portion of their huge claims while then continuing to drill on remaining zones. Isn't that potentially a third option, given the enormous size of the exploration area.

erieshore that theory has been brandied about but it holds no water. It goes with QH's theory about the burrito. Why have a burrito when  you can have the whole enchilata. I wish it would be considered but does not hold water on careful scrutiny.  Besides we need the water to wash the dirt off the gold. IKE

Selling piecemeal might interest NFG but the big boys are going to want it all.  They think big and they play big.  I foresee one buyer buying up NFG a few years down the road for far more than GBR got.

I am in almost total agreement with you and differ on timing only as I think it happens before end of this year. As for price, who knows, but we have nearly 3 times the shares O/S as GBR and that makes a huge impact on  price per share. It definitely will be far in excess of last year's high, but how much is anyone's guess.

Hi Suregold, Hang on a minute!  According to your perspective - the only way to remedy this situation would be to immediately have a 3 for 1 split...well, this would likely kiss off any chances of having new supportive money coming in to augment the SP!  Give us a break. Each situation is unique - and quite often, comparisons are odious. el d

not sure where you are getting that. No way do I advocate a share split. All I am saying is that we have a lot of dilution as compared to a GBR. In other words a $30 per share buyout price will cost the buyer $5.4 billion in total versus the $1.8 for GBR. No way am I ever saying a stock split. Dilution matters, always. I have no idea what eventual price will be. But, I am adamant in my belief this ...more

Thanks Suregold, Let me first say - I still think the GBR deal was a stinky deal...and entirely in keeping with the buy-history of the purchaser.  I think KGC  got it on a low-ball offer that dissed the share-holders...so, please do not bring this deal up as a bench-mark, as it really doesn't wash with me!  (and I never owned any...so simply watched in horror!) You are correct ...more

All around Eldrico  I also thought GBR was a stinking deal. I never invested as well but know someone that made some good money  on it but got out way to early. I too thought it was a horror show that  management failed to protect shareholder value. That last year must have been so painful for shareholders. I have complete confidence in our management team that no  ...more

erieshore: They could sell Queensway North, which is only a small portion of Queensway. That would free them up to concentrate on Queensway South where very little work has been done to date. There are all kinds of permutations and combinations to use a mathematical analogy! However I, too ,think it is a little premature to be thinking of selling. They are about a third of the way through a ...more
