Why the relentless SP drop

The steady drop in SP is unreal. What gives.

Hard to decide whether to get out or hang in for significant news.

There is a notion in the marketplace that the "near future global recession" is going to kill demand for commodities, close mines and send the US dollar to the moon.  Problems in China and Europe are bolstering that notion.  Current demand for physical commodities, including Gold, is high but the marketplace doesn't care! In round figures, gold is down 6%, silver 25%, and the Euro is down 20% over past year. So good is actually doing well in Euro terms. Unfortunately this does not help the price of NFG. One has to remember that, simplification means mining costs of the gold has increased, say from 1000$ to 1100$ an ounce due to inflation and this difference means that profit per ounce has been reduced from2000 ...more

  Difficult to watch NFG fall continuously week after week like this but the market is the market. Longer term I think NFG shareholders will be well rewarded. They have a very valuable asset but the overall gold sector is weak right now.  Money could have fled NFG into SIC today as they made an excellent intersection. Lots of gold in the central gold belt of NL so I think there will ...more
