What was known as the mile of gold in Kirkland Lake had 7 mines that between them produced approximately 18 million ounces of gold. This might explain why NFG took an option on more of the land that is looking more and more at being a huge gold bearing area.
It is already more than a mile long and who knows how many miles it will eventually prove to be as a mineable resource. We do not know this nor do we know how deep the ore deposit might prove out. We only, at this point, know that there is a extensive amount more drilling and assaying required to define the ore bearing parameters.
All that is obvious is that this will be mined at a huge profit at some time. Mining may even start in the not too distant future should it prove to be profitable to commence by mining as an open pit operation. Although waiting can be frustrating, hang on, the story of this mining camp has only just begun.
