For those from 'up along'!
It is estimated that Canada has about 24% of the global wetland areas, and of the approximately 14% of Canada's land mass that is covered by wetlands, 5% are found in NL (Warner and Rubec 1997. Rubec, eds. 1997. The Canadian Wetland Classification System.
Wet lands are divided into bogs, ferns, ponds, marshes and swamps.
These wetlands comprise large sections of the boreal forest and play a vital role in the ecosystem.
So no NL is not covered by swamps. The only true swamp I've experienced was somewhere else.

Run a geophysical line through it and you will call it all kinds of names, none of them good!
