Meteorites and Gold
Very large meteor collisions such as the one which created the Sudbury basin will melt vast volumes of crustal rock. Heavy elements, such as Gold and Platinum, will sink and concentrate into mineable deposits (such as the Sudbury offset dykes).
There is no electric current. There is no bubbling gold although if you aim your shotgun just right there can be bubbling black gold (Texas tea).

It used to be considered that The full load of meteorite gold was thus added to the mantle alone and not lost to the deep interior. Dont know if this is still the consensual explanation by geologists ..
