Nowhere bound.

NFG has proven high grade gold in the ground.  Problem is, its still in the ground. I think they need to get it out of the ground and sell it to somebody.

Thirdperson...simply said..but true. I have been on here for over a year trying to wake these folks up on the difference between a speculative play versus holding a producer (especially when it comes to gold bull markets). Unfortunately very few if any have listened. They are al now learning a valuable and painfull lesson as the producers are up huge (many well over 100 percent) over the past year ...more

Im glad my entry point was just below what the share price is now.  I hope that this one catches the tailwinds of this Gold bull market and has a pop.  Anything over $4 a share is good with me... Then I look at my options.

Thirdperson...I personally would not choose NFG as a speculative play on the gold sector. You would be better off with a producer (my go to is TXG). If you need to have a spec play in gold then almost anything else out there is better than NFG...this stock is not performing for a reason. Your call on this one.

I wouldn't use this as a gold play either.  clearly there is little correlation between gold prices and this stock.  This is more of a resource development play.  Its a show me stock.  They they can give the market clarity in a positive way, the stock will react.  If they just drill a couple hundred thousand feet  without any type if resource estimate or ...more

wow,you didnt get the sarcasm?lmao
Comment by cashtango00 on Oct 22, 2024 4:36pm
I got it, its not cryptic....the truly ironic thing is you are being  sarcastic about something you actually do...posting about gold prices as if it had anything to do with this stock right now.....now thats funny Einstein  lol

"I wouldn't use this as a gold play either.  clearly there is little correlation between gold prices and this stock."   1)  So,what play is NFG if not gold?  2)Sorry forgot that, the price of coffee moves this stock.lol                                        ...more

Higher gold prices are moving the producers but are still having little effect on the explorers.  Unless you take the gold out of the ground it's book value is zero.

" Unless you take the gold out of the ground it's book value is zero."              So,NFG has zero value, because the gold is in the ground, but Market cap says otherwise $715 million,i should take a note of that?                              Can you please answer on my ...more

There is a difference between book value and market value.  You can't list gold in the ground as a monetary asset until it comes out of the ground.  The same applies to all commodity industries.  The biggest oil reservoir in the world has zero book value until the oil comes out of the ground. My point being unless you take the gold out of the ground it is worthless.  An ...more

." You can't list gold in the ground as a monetary asset until it comes out of the ground." How do you sell to a major,if you can not use the gold in the ground??How do you do anything with your logic?this is not producer, its a exploration company.exploration companies value(book or market)is based on whats in ground.
Comment by Retiredgeo on Oct 22, 2024 7:23pm
This is the way the accounting world works.  Commodities in the ground have no book value until they are taken out of the ground.  The sale of a property benefits the ledger of the seller and is considered an expense to the buyer.  The buyer doesn't recover any value from their purchase, nor, is credited with any value from their purchase until the commodity is taken out of the ...more

"This is the way the accounting world works.  Commodities in the ground have no book value until they are taken out of the ground"  Bingo so they dont have to pay tax,all it is, is a loop hole. But in a real world the question is,whats in the ground?
Comment by Retiredgeo on Oct 22, 2024 7:50pm
The buyer doesn't pay tax until the commodity comes out of the ground and is sold.  The seller pays tax on the property sold. You won't find the value of "ore in the ground" on any balance sheet.  At best it will be listed in an appendix to the balance sheet. An undeveloped asset in the ground is worth market value and if the market says NFG is worth $2/share when ...more

Then what are doing in here, please dont tell me,you are helping the average NFG investor???
Comment by cashtango00 on Oct 22, 2024 5:17pm
Does the price of gold move this stock?  Does it?     Put the price of gold on a chart and then on the same chart, put the price of NFG and tell me about all the correlation you see. Its ironic you chirp me like a clown, meanwhile I have just started scaling into a position in the last few days and will be adding on weakness, meanwhile you have been sitting here for a year ...more
