77 Million Ounces ..Top QWN Prospects

The intensively drilled portion of QWN which includes  most of the top propects , is documented as covering a drilled mineralized strike of 4100 m and 200 meters wide .

I assume a mineralized depth of just 150 meters which is eminently  produced by open pit mining.

Specific Gravity is 2.84 tons per cu meter.

So, drilled tonnage within that area is 4100 X 200 X 150 X 2.84  = 350 million tons .

Based on Keats Trench Data, only 11 % of the surficial area of KT  was mineralized at an average grade of  2 ounces per ton ( 62 grams ).

The rest ( 89 % )  was waste ore.

By extrapolation, the average grade of the 350 million tons contained within  QWN , including massive amounts of waste  uneconomic ore  is
62 grams /ton  X  0.11 = 6.8 grams per ton.

Therefore , contained economic ore of these prospects of QWN  to a depth of 150 meters is 350 m tons X 6.8 grams per ton  divided by 31 = 77 million
ounces.

Divide by 4 to be very conservative and we have about 19 million ounces of open pittable ore to a depth of 150 m in just a portion of QWN

Recoverable value at 95 % recovery is 18 million ounces valued at $67 Billion in CAD @ $3700 CAD per ounce.

Divide by 2 to be ultra ultra conservative ( reduction of estimated ounces by factor of 8 ) , and we have about $33 Billion CAD in recoverable gold.

Just to 150 meters of depth.

Professionally excellent analysis.

With such high grade ore just below the stripped surface, direct shipping to the Pine Cove mill is economically attractive. Once there, the ore can be crushed , achieve 80% separation using Maritime's gravity separator , and the remainder milled after cominution by the Pine Cove mill. The crushed waste ore can be used by Shoreline for its aggregate business, and any associated gold fines can ...more

I don't know much about the pine cove mill. Nozz, do you know how much capacity they're running currently? And how much they can run? I guess I should try googling that first but you seem very informed. I'll post if I find any numbers. Thanks for the thoughtful and informative posts!

Google first, ask questions later haha. The pine cove mill is capable of 1,300 tonnes per day. Maritime as per their last release had roughly 100,000 tonnes stockpiled. My only concern with utilizing their mill is that they are using it. Milling on site is far more economical at more initial, but necessary, capex.

Pine Cove has 1400 tons per day capacity ....about 450,000 tons per year. Nuggett Pond has 700 tons per day but needs a comminution upgrade to resume production. However, that mill jointly owned  by Firefly Metals, does have a comminution circuit. Firefly is planning a new mill and won't resume copper production until late 2028, so it's possible that the Nuggett Pond mill could be ...more
