As to the fate of the ZENN car.
NOT I. Clifford's fault.
Blame the Liberals under Paul Martin who fouled the nest of regulations and bureaucracy so deep that Transport Canada didn't know which way was up.
It was too late by the time the Harper Team was able to have a look at that Department and have them get their act together.

Not a bad looking city runabout.

If anything Ian was ahead of his time with ZENN, and unfortunately he tried to capitalize the business in the weak-knee Canadian Capital markets, where serious investors don't have staying power for longer than 3-6 months, if that. (Don't get me started...)
His foray into the cap's market was an attenmpt to get ahead of the 'range anxiety' stall of the EV industry at the time.
Read on.
At the time the EV market was 'charred landscape'.
Coda Holdings - Bankrupt after making 100 cars
Fisker - laid off 75% of it's workers

Man are you confused. Feel good cars had nothing to do with fuel cells. Also I know this story inside and out and I've never heard of Farr and Marietta. And yes zenn could only sell their cars in the USA due to unfavorable Transport Canada rulings.

Martin Marietta's a company not a person. Besides, perhaps my memory is failing but I thought it was Lockheed. Either way their corporate executives always smirked and shuffled in an embarrassed sort of way whilst trying their best not to answer questions about Eestor during annual shareholder meetings.

Okay, okay, Lockheed and Martin Marietta merged in 1995, with Lockheed being the senior entity and the full company name Lockheed Martin. Posted just for sake of accuracy.

Google "Lockheed Martin signs deal eestor". It was significant. A lot bigger deal than your selective memory and confirmation bias would allow.

it's a shame that people only talk to each other from time to time here. It would be nice if this was done regularly.
