What will be, will be.
My posting doesn't indicate anything is imminent. Just that's there nothing else to do but wait and get ideas out for discussion. Getting older like everyone else. Surprising that my patience doesn't diminish with age.
The potential size of the project could accommodate both export and domestic end users. But this for Northland to decide. Oceanic is acting in an advisory capacity on the project.
I like green hydrogen idea as does both the provincial and federal govts. Is there going to be tax break for those using green hydrogen/ammonia/methanol vs blue hydrogen derived from natural gas? Might be more expensive to make green hydrogen.
But get idea out there and things happen. Unfortunately businesses are closing. Powell River paper mill, 420 jobs gone. Canfor sawmill in Prince George shutdown. etc. Excess power exists for BC Hydro when large industries close.
Transition to a green economy from fossil fuels is a long process. Retraining, relocation and the sort. It's easy to say "open for business", but the fact is....
Terms like "competitive advantage" are floated, but attracting new businesses isn't easy. Subsidies are sometimes required. I hope windfarms can carve out their own niche markets and attract businesses with competitive electrical rates.
