...like others, wind projects are being built. It's catching on.
RES Group (world's largest independent renewable energy company) is involved in one project and more to follow. I post a lot on this forum, but I see renewable energy progress in my province every year.
Just wondering what's up with Oceanic. First Orsted, then Northland, now who? Great vision for two decades and progress is being made. Offshore in BC has its challenges, but why can't the company also explore potential in other provinces? Bring in a developer and talk about it.
Anyway in Sask:
Biodiesel project being drawn up by a refinery, thousands will be employed during construction.
A battery storage facility, the first in the province to be built, new wind farms being asked for by the public utility. Generous 25 year contracts to deliver low cost electricity.
RES, an international company, has become a key player. From green hydrogen (link below) to offshore wind farms.

The public utility here, is looking at new windpower projects:
South Central Wind Project. Two 200MW wind projects are required.
We’re entering into a competitive process to select 1 or 2 independent power producers (IPPs) to finance, build, own and operate each new wind generation facility and clean up the site when the facility has reached its end of life.
The first part of the competition is to select qualified respondents to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process that follows.

Back in 2021:
SaskPower has awarded its next utility-scale wind facility to Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Canada and Awasis Nehiyawewini Energy Development, a wholly owned Cowessess First Nation entity. 200MW project near Kipling.

"Saskatchewan is an ideal place to build some of the most cost-effective wind power in the world," said said Peter Clibbon, RES senior VP of development in the news release.
