It's not that easy.

200MW limit which hinders offshore wind development. Plus other regulations set out by BC Hydro. A lack of infrastructure to supply back up and to windpower electricity.

Hooking up directly to a end user of windpower is not easy either. Electricity must be sold through BC Hydro. They are the ones who put in the transmission lines to LNG projects and other sites and coordinate the entire provincial grid.

That through consulations and input from everyone, much progress has been made. But now comes the technical stuff.

I don't know how future power calls will pan out. On one hand, can't build countless windfarms and try to tie in everything. But building large scale windfarms could limit benefits. Some regions of the province are lacking the conditions for favourable windfarm development, while others have plenty to spare.

Management is aware of the 200MW limit, but currently are trying to find a solution with other developers and end users for future power calls. I thought all of this was already discussed with BC Hydro. But it did come as a surprise. Can see the wording change in their two last MD&A reports.

For the stock, have to look long term now. Some partnerships may have been established with a view for the future. I think this was to be the update.

I don't know how long the twinning of the transmission line (Prince George/ Terrace) will take 8-10 years? And will this impact any offshore wind development plans.

In the end, some serious electricity will be required for the region. And how will BC Hydro secure more power without twinning all the major transmission lines to the US border and elsewhere. A regionally sourced supply like offshore wind could help.

There is excess capacity on the current transmission line to send power out to the rest of the province.

It all points to a lot of strategic planning yet to do. Best to do it now, while in the early
stages as every step costs billions. Have to budget wisely and provide reasonably priced electricity.

Going to the beach and relaxing is all I can do now.
