Offshore wind has all the numbers
Once all the technical stuff is sorted out, makes offshore wind more cost effective and reliable.
1. "Utilization rate" of onshore wind in BC. Only 39%. I assume higher for offshore.
2. "Gross capacity factor", which offshore wind surpasses onshore. (60%+ for Hecate vs 35-45% onshore).
3. "Power production" of Hecate would be around 97% of the time. Onshore wind is much less.
Nice to see geographic diversity in the latest Power Call. Helps with the reliability.
The article below that new proposals for LNG exist. Need a lot of electricity.
