Yes teacher student learning software that was then state of the art but competing with existing products and subject to long school board controlled sourcing cycles and methods. Can't remember what I lost but have had lots of them in my specs over the years. The home runs have paid off through the likes of EMH, NTAR, PYR, HPQ and IP  Gains went into core yield and safety with a nice portion in Capital Power at 28 going for a double  :) and other non spec investments that have done well coming back from COVID Currently in 6 specs and small caps NXO, IP

I expect I lucked out. NTAR first came to my attention before its spinoff from Future Farms and I liked the story. Bought in early at I believe around 80 cents, but managed to build a big position on the subsequent share price decline to significantly lower my costs and increase share count. Rode that up and began selling at $5, and up to and including the $9 mark, Should have exited completely

That has changed as I took my winnings off the table as noted in an earlier post and went strongly for yield as my needs change. I called it my spec porfolio and most was in assorted plays over the years in as substantial share counts as I could assemble. It began as 10% of my ivested assets. where the remainder was in good but that went up and down with my money unrtil it suddenly grew wildly

Barstool...you manage risk well...possibly Topper can learn from you that 90% in companies with fundamentals is going to pay off in longe term.....i have survived with similar metrics.....i think you view studying the story is important and balancing risk to protect yourself is important....otherwise you dont BS on this board...you understand the lottery ticket aspect ....Thanks for your post

Rat,Goverments around the world who stoked their countries with cheap money during the Covid con will fear the worst. Most were left leaning and are now paying the price. Canada housing assests will be in for a canning. My allocation to shares is approx 10% of assets and all of that is from part profits from the last 5 years.... henry...as predicted a bear market rally often shows up in a bear market....its common....But just reade the consumer debt problems in USA...and inflation and russia and gas prices.....Mike Wilson says watch out....dont get caught in a major selloff....he says  S&P at 3000 is a real possiblity.....that will wipe out all the tech gainss

IRats If you believe what MW says...then buy the VIX up big time. Protection is what it is all about. As mentioned to you previously...anytime it gets down to $19 or $20 I cover myself. TBLT was prime example. My first dig at that was a large position...covered my bet with VIX...TBLT was just that. Luck played its part. Sold TBLT for a large profit. Kept VIX in place then spent profit on TBLT

I was hoping it would be 20$ in time but I'm not giving up I stuck this long. Came down pretty quick but could recover in the future never know. It got over dollar a week or so ago. Was good to see. Many others I put 10k in TGIF before it became 1933

You would have lost either way Topper. IP is about 1\10th of what it peaked at around .90 The others must have hurt too. Followed TGIF myself for awhile and my track record in these stock is not great when I think of my own losers and self inflicted losses like ISOL
