In an interview released today on The Junior Explorer channel, Outcrop Silver & Gold (Ticker: OCG.v or OCGSF for US investors) CEO, Ian Harris, shared the company's commitment to innovation, sustainable growth and potential of its Santa Ana silver project in Colombia.
Harris highlights how silver is experiencing a resurgence in demand due to its myriad industrial applications and indispensability in emerging technologies like electric vehicles and solar panels. Despite its critical role, he argues that silver remains undervalued in the market and anticipates a surge in silver prices driven by supply deficits and increasing industrial demand.
OCG's team boasts extensive expertise in exploration, development, and capital markets, with Harris himself bringing over 25 years of experience as a mining engineer as well as spearheading projects across South America.
Colombia, with its rich mining heritage, provides an ideal setting for OCG's endeavors. Its Santa Ana project stands out for its exceptional silver grades and extensive mineralization, with 22 veins exposed at the surface.
Currently, OCG's exploration has only scratched the surface, with 7 of these veins having undergone drilling so far. This revelation underscores the immense potential for further discovery within the project.
Harris delved into the company's achievements in 2023, which include resource delineation, expansion drilling, and metallurgical advancements, setting the stage for a transformative year ahead.
Testing determined that the project's ore exhibits favorable metallurgical characteristics, with recoveries averaging 93% across various processing methods.
The metallurgical test work not only confirms the viability of the Santa Ana project but also sets a solid foundation for future exploration and development endeavors.
With an ambitious 8,000m drill program to start any day now, OCG aims to unlock the full potential of Santa Ana. The company's ambitious objective is to elevate the high-grade silver resource estimate at their Santa Ana Silver Project from 37 million ounces to 100 million ounces, with initial drilling results anticipated to be unveiled in late April
With Harris at the helm, OCG continues to chart new frontiers, looking to expand possibly one of the world's richest primary silver deposits.
