Curious Situation - some thoughts

I've been following these guys for a while now. The situation is certainly intriguing, given the market they address. I also like McInness's background.

However, they have not executed on their opening timelines. Covid is no excuse, because they consciously announced expansion plans during the pandemic, seemingly trying to be counterintuitive in taking advantage of the vacuum created by other competitiors holding off to wait out the pandemic. But it hasn't happened as quickly as ODD planned.

I also find the sales numbers underwhelming. In the presentations I've seen to date, they don't seem to highlight same store sales growth (probably because it would look bad). This is a critical number.

Also, with all the hype about preposterous foods in 3rd party retail locations, I would expect to see those sales broken out. Perhaps they're having trouble gettting traction because the market is more saturated than they anticipated.

I"m not saying this company doesn't have a chance. If they can get enough brand recognition, it may become self-promotng and take off. For now, though, any stock pops I see appear to be speculation based on annoucements of 'plans' (It hit $1.50 in 2021)

When they execute on a reasonable expansion plan and show us some positive SSSG data, I'll get more excited.

This latest Western franchise showed up out of left field and looks like they are ready at the end of the month.  Don't think Preposterous have their feet wet yet.  Just finished shopping at my local Sobey ...more

I have been accumulating shares here for the last few months. It came to my attention from X posts Sean Black cfo of HFBG in which he often hashtags other companies of interest. I believe they have the package here. Light asset model, fully automated and producing fast food which looks like fast food. I've never been in proximity to sample it but the reviews appear good.
