That is a very good question. Could we finally get the results on Kawa ? We had a good trading day on Friday up 6% at the close, considering it was down about 6% earlier in the day. 5 months since spud, and lots of bucks being spent.  I would therefore like to think that results will be in our favor, as the cost is not that big of a deal if they found the mother load. In my opinion,I believe ...more

Won't be the biggest one well discovery. In the basin.but with location if commercial  it would pump oil for a long time ..would need to look synergy with some bigger dog..to gamble big on the H25 if H23 was found blank would be poor decision  in,my books so not only would extra cost hurt the bottom line it would erode investor confidence  going fwd..so there must be some ...more

I have always figuered we would be at 3$ leading up to a NR so I'll stick to that. Although It usually does the opposite/ GLTA

I hope you are right.  The problem with your logic is that all the money was spent prior to hitting H23 so how can they know what they have until they get to that point?  Am I missing something?  I am not an oil person so maybe it is because they have good intel from the first secondary target to keep them engaged to this point?  Could it be they have no choice but to go all or ...more

Miftee9, rough numbers but kawa was to be 21,600' for $85 mil. Cgx 12/16/21 NR stated they had 2,160' left and the new budget to finish went to $115-$125 mil. At 12/16/21 we hadn't drilled H23 or H25. So the big ASSUMPTION on this Sunday (I like Sundays) is we are thru H23 and might even be through H25. H19 being good (unclear how good) wasn't a reason to stop on 12/16/21. H23 ...more

What is WRONG with you? According to the experts on this forum, the time to drill to the Dec 15, 2021 NR was for casing, etc, etc and etc. An active hydrocarbon system was in the NR. Are you saying they lied about that? Do you know the consequences of doing that? One poster wondered about the possibility of losing the well, AND pondered the necessity for caution, going forward. DeALba has made a ...more

Exactly Phantom, If we had the well from hell we would know that by now. Challenging probably for sure, but with some of the best in the buisness navigating carefully. Three stacked targets and seemed to have found unexpected possible other shows.  You cant just power through all that stuff, Everything needs to be evaluted with the proper move forward plan with contingencies for everything. ...more

I dont know why you are jumping all over Sporty.  The drill is a 6 weeks over schedule which means the well was not straight forward.  I'm not saying it is a well from hell but it was no walk in the park either.  Good things come to those who wait I guess.  GLTA.

Not many exploration wildcat frontier drills/wells are easy [still a frontier area was said by Exxon, not me]  Expect the unexpected is the rule of law with that.  Failing to plan if planning to fail on this type of action. GLTA,

"Expect the unexpected..." "Failing to plan is planning to fail..." was said by lj not me. Fact is Cgx expected around 115 days to drill Kawa...around 150+ days now. Fact is Cgx planned Kawa to cost $85 mil... now $125 mil? Conclusion, Cgx didn't expect or plan very well, did they? Lj, tell the board why. Very nasty there Phantom, maybe a translation issue? My Brother works on rigs like this , controlling mud and pressure etc. and I have asked him a number of times the same questions the MB is asking. All he can say is A lot of scenarios can take place, losing tool's down the hole, hitting different formations, running tests etc. All of which can cause delays. This rig is costing around 1 million @ day and is way over budget. My unqualified ...more

Hey Zibo Nice Jacket ..am it's all about perception ... Phantom for someone passive in this it's a normal well for someone 21 years in it's a well from Hell indeed all about that level of individual perspective ..we all free to express ..I'm upbeat ..three stacked targets might not align perfectly in one column some dog legging and horizontal jogo bonito probably had to be done ...more

I agree that they are on to something, how big that something is? No idea, this well was pretty well De-risked so I'm assuming they don't want to bungle the results. If they're paying 1million a day it's likely worth it at this point. Makes no sense to keep bleeding cash if the end result isn't the same. I think they would have plugged if they thought this was a duster. Got to ...more
