There is always the possibility that DeAlba has been living a lie throughout his tenure at Catalyst and is actually a closet empire builder who wants to make FEC the next Exxon or Shell, but I doubt it.
The Corentyne PPL expires in November, and Berbice and Demerara expire early next year, so IMO there simply isnt time for FEC to swallow CGX, and mixing produciton and exploration assets could actually devalue the whole basket.
Activists like Icahn have been pushing Papa to divest Bausch ophthalmics and Salix to monetize those franchises, and I don't see DeAlba doing the opposite. I think if he could, he would make as many individual deals as possible. Besides, buying into a more expensive deal on a proven reserve like Kawa will attract a different suitor than would the exploration of Demerara or a mainland block like Berbice. Rolling everything into Frontera just doesn't make sense, but what do I know. He also needs state approval for everything, and that is a wildcard, esp in light of the recent government posturings regarding a national oil company and reclaiming exploration blocks.

Exxon and Total bought in to Canje based on seismic alone. Westmount then bought in to JHI and has since upped their stake. How's that worked out?
We are weeks or less away from a better indication of pay stack and oil quality under north Corentyne. Are you seriously suggesting that big oil wouldn't buy into a proven reserve on the doorstep of the Berbice canyon, in the hottest basin in the world?? Please. If you're talking your book please carry on sir, but if you are actually sitting on a long position why on earth you are here constantly pissing on your own shoes with such ridiculous and unsubstantiated statements is trulyl remarkable.
CGX has no meaningful institutional ownership and the closest we have to analyst coverage is the likes of she drills, oil run and Konsti who won't come anywhere close to this forum thanks to the disgusting and relentless garbage posted by the hallucinogen addicted multi aliased troll who resides under the StockHouse bridge. The good news is that there is likely a ton of oil under us. The better news is that with PPL's expiring soon, we will see some significant activity in the coming months, as De Alba moves to fence off discoveries and monetize our assets, and hopfully renew some licenses. Exciting!!
I am in Beaner's camp and have been sporting a wide grin as we get closer and closer to the prize.
Good luck to us all and have a great day!
