Yeah that huge, multi-purpose deep water port is called Vreed en Hoop on the Demerera River right across from Georgetown where XOM has also built a port on 20 acres of land shifting all logistics and supply from Trinidad to Guyana according to the below link. As I understand it,  CGX's port is on the next river to the east, the Berbice River, close to the Floppy Chick Inn Restaurant and ...more

Oh that's right Berbice river my bad, thanks for the correction.

No problem, someone posted coordinates of CGX port last year. On Crab Island on Berbice River close to Floppy Chick. That's the closest landmark/reference that shows up on Google Maps/Earth. XOM got the girl where all the action is. CGX got Floppy Chick on Crab Island.

maybe floppy chick got crabs from cgx island

Lol, Well that entire Berbice River basin area is supposed to be fantastic for agriculture plus a port there could also support drilling/development operations in Suriname and Corentyne. Saw a Nebula video on Youtube about Africa's "smooth" coastline making it difficult to import/ export from Africa because of an acute lack of deepwater ports. Great beaches though. Guyana doesn' ...more

I meant a different type of crab, not usually found in water, but in pants. The problem guyana has is the silt, the rivers are and endless supply, dredging has always been a good business

Yes a2bman, I was lol at your crab joke at floppy chick catching crabs on cgx island. I got the joke. Yes silt. When I worked there going out to the rig on the chopper you can see that the muddy waters extend many kilometers out into the ocean. The entire country's inland coastal area must be nutrient rich sediment. Those rivers carry piles of sediment and I can see why dredging is a big ...more

The water depth here is not a deep water port ....no larger container ships will be offloaded here ...it is designed to service the oil industry .. ..the Beatrice port may not be deep water to but will trans ship everything traded into Surinam and Brazil ...my money is on cgx for now though I do have Exxon shares ...The Cartegena is a true deep water port ...
Comment by Frank007 on Dec 07, 2024 4:17pm
Interesting mention of the most efficient ports in the world ...Cartegena #3 ....Wall Street week discussion ....I would say it value has to be in the 3 Biron $ range ...Exxon port May steal the thunder from cgx Beatrice port for servicing the oil offshore .....but it can not service the Brazilian commerce ...!

You've got a point there Frank! Fec got a winner in Cartagena. They got Miss Colombia. Why Francus Drake atracked it so often. Main shipping point for riches going to Spain from South Anerica. Deep, calm waters until the pirates show up. Lol.
