Fidelity $50 trade fee

What the helllll??? Anyone know why one incurs this fee when buying this equity from the US???? 

I own a number of Canadian stocks and I've never encountered this.

First stock I've ever attempted to buy that was not DTCC eligible.. Everything goes through the DTCC as in payroll, equities, bonds, etc... so that is odd..   "Why did Fidelity charge me $50 commission? A $50 fee will also be charged on each transaction in any foreign ordinary stock that is not Depository Trust Company eligible. Retirement and non-retirement accounts are ...more

Hello Casavantsghost, Ouch, that has got to hurt. I recently moved accounts to National Bank Discount Broker where you can buy all Canadian traded stocks at $0 commission. We were with Questrade before and the $9.95 fixed trade fee was adding up as our daily trade volumes grew. It sounds like this is a US broker issue - is that the cause of the problem? Cheers, S.
