BC Clean Tech Fund

Hello Ciao and Phantom,

Is this the fund you guys are discussing?

Since 2019, the CleanBC Industry Fund (CIF) has invested more than $244 million into supporting industry projects that directly reduce industrial emissions, accelerate new emissions reduction technologies, and study potential decarbonization opportunities.

To date, total funded CIF projects are expected to reduce more than 9.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions over a 10-year period, which could be the same effect as removing 238,181 cars from the road each year during that time. These numbers are only expected to grow as CIF continues to fund multi-year projects.

CIF has supported:

84 Emissions Performance (EP) projects totaling $191.85 million
11 Innovation Accelerator (IA) projects totaling $47.85 million
41 Feasibility Studies (FS) projects totaling $6.57 million

Or perhaps the EDC fund for supporting the export of Canadian developed clean tech IP?

Stanmore, Phantom is indicating that delays in the PozGlass pilot plant was due to funding issues from a clean tech fund. I can't find any reference to PLAN applying for any aid from a clean tech fund such as CIF. I'm just disappointed that the pilot plant is taking longer than what was initially anticipated by the company. If it was contingent upon financing by a clean tech fund such as ...more

Hello Ciao, My understanding matches what you have posted - that the funding was from the BC manufacturing job expansion fund and not the CIF. No question a pilot plant that processes certified "clean" recycled glass is a very different prospect than one that has to accept raw glass that needs to have an unknown number of impurities identified and removed prior to crushing into the ...more

Hi Stanmore, Just for clarification, I did not post that funding was from the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund program. The company has likely applied for funding (both for say PozGlass and automation of legacy production lines) via multiple avenues; the BC Mfg Jobs Fund, B.C. Output Based Pricing System - new in April 2024, the CleanBC Industry Fund [ four funding streams open for proposals: CleanBC ...more

Hi Ciao. Not sure why there would be any issue in sharing the various government incentive programs to which a publicly traded company had made application? Having participated in the preparation and submission of this type of application I know first hand how frustrating the review, assessment and granting process can be, with promised/suggested announcement dates often passing without any news ...more
