The app is made by a company called Simply Good (google them). The augmented reality technology is made by (i.e. licensed from) WIkitude.

My post was posed as a question. After viewing the websites you provided I feel it is still entirely possible that the visual search component of the app could be powered by Slyce

Are you sure you have the right app? It's rated 4 stars on apple and google app stores. I tried it an it worked well for me, kind of fun actually. The Canadian Tire app is not powered by Slyce, it's powered by Wikitude.

Tried it again and it works now. There is a bug for iPad downloads that it doesn't recognize your location that's why it didn't work.
