The app is made by a company called Simply Good (google them).  The augmented reality technology is made by (i.e. licensed from) WIkitude.

My post was posed as a question. After viewing the websites you provided I feel it is still entirely possible that the visual search component of the app could be powered by Slyce

I couldn't find anywhere that Slyce would be powering this new app. I tied the app thou and as it is right now it does not work. It is also rated 1out of 5 at the App Store . It would make sense for Canadian tire to improve the online business if they focused on app to improve their sales.  Im hopefull but there has been no official announcement right now. Are you sure you have the right app?  It's rated 4 stars on apple and google app stores.  I tried it an it worked well for me, kind of fun actually. The Canadian Tire app is not powered by Slyce, it's powered by Wikitude.

Tried it again and it works now. There is a bug for iPad downloads that it doesn't recognize your location that's why it didn't work.
