i do not believe they are stupid enough to do that. i mean botching it on purpose while you are on record as shorts, now that would be something. clearly something went wrong, if they fe fired Shelton, i guess for releasing dots in a public doc. instead of numbers.

That is a lot of shorts. Typically marketmakers are the naked shorters. They might have been on the wrong side of margin and option trades and tried to manage their losses with the help of shorts. Fe if they sold options that gain with a price decline the losses add up quick. They should be able to off set that with shorts. Of course you get a vicious circle. All of this because of making a doc
