Millions of Elephants died in Kavango over millions of years
In 1930, as many as 10 million wild elephants roamed huge swaths of the African continent.
KAVANGO is home to Africa’s largest contiguous elephant population, as well as major populations of a wide range of species such as buffalo, hippopotamus, lion, lechwe, roan, sable, eland, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, puku, bushbuck, sitatunga, hunting dog, spotted hyena, and numerous other animal species of the Southern African savannas, woodlands and wetlands.
The ground vibrates as a herd of buffalo pass.
All these these animals died on Kavango land. Their remains seaped through the ground creating the largest basin in the world.
And the remains of these animals is what oil is made of.
Pretty easy to understand,
A Petroleum System being in place in Kavango is a foregone conclusion and, the quantity of oil in this ground must be be ENORMOUS.
This is my personal opinion.

Oil and gas comes from algae and zooplankton, processed under heat and pressure; Diagenesis and catagenesis form hydrocarbons. Dead animals only turn into fossils. Your argument and conclusions aren't accurate, and do not suggest a deposit of commercial hydrocarbons. Although there are hopefully very large deposits of commercial hydrocarbons in the Kavango... only time will tell.

Animals need vegetation and elephants need a lot of vegetation Fossil fuels are hydrocarbons, primarily coal, fuel oil or natural gas, formed from the remains of dead plants and animals

Dude no offense but last I checked elephants are land animals. The shale they are exploring is from marine life deposits. Just saying....

Considering the vast majority of oil is created by decayed plant matter and microscopic organisms falling to a seabed and then being covered up by earth over millions of years and not "millions of dead elephants that seeped into the ground" you are crackpot #2 on this board without a shred of knowledge on how this industry works.
