If the twitter from Africa is correct and they won't be dilling a third well in Namibia , perhaps Reco will drill a well in Botswana with their partner Roe to ascertain if the geology runs the whole way through their properties which would mean it is huge .

The journalist claimed her source said they weren't drilling a third 'test' well. Take from that what you will. This journalist is a freelance, not answerable to an editor, she can say whatever the hell she wants, doesn't need to be accurate. Plus she's got a a prejudice against the project, so any 'reporting' will reflect that.

it's amazing how people don't know or even attempt to find out what's in the exploration license required work program, under the terms reco has to drill at least two wells and acquire 250 km of seismic. Management said they were going to drill two strat wells and the third was going to be a exploration well targeting a conventional target. for Botswana according to there license

Exactly my point, an investor presentation late last year said two stratigraphic wells and then they'd drill a potential trap with the third. So the journalist saying they won't drill a third 'test' well means nothing

Thank you Ebeniezer and GorgeousGeorge for the cited explanation of why Reco is doing what they are doing! Strat wells - drilled, logged, and abandoned (with cement) - not a duster or a gusher, that's not what the first 2 wells were designed to accomplish.

The most encouraging thing to come out of that journalists tweet (in my uneducated opinion) was the photo of the well pad showing the colour of the cuttings pond, looks a shale dark grey to me. But of course I'm not a geo so I could be way off!

I'm not a GEO either but everything points out to a discovery at this stage. I think everyone here knows it and the fact that more eco freaks come here to disturb the investors, tells me that all is well.
