My Main Concern/Risk Analysis

Just to start ,  I am totally overweight on my gambling money here.  In @ 8 -10 $ CAD I think they are totally on to something.

One of the things that could stop it fast is terrorism or war.

On a resource of this magnitude there is going to be some unlawful interest.
OPEC (Angolia) doesn't really like competition and will do whatever it takes to keep their position. Been at war  for 50 years. One of their many groups could storm the area and claim it.

Wars have been waged for a lot less.

Namibia cannot muster enough military to protect a park.  NYPD  has a larger force/budget than they do.

If this was beside Russia or China the border would simply be moved. South Africa still considers Nambia to be a province.

Who is going to prevent this from happening?   UK,  EU, USA , UN ??? Big Oil.

Just  thinking about the risk. I don't know much about what really goes on over there in countries with only a few years of somewhat calm.
Appreciate all ideas.
Happy Sunday.

Ya... those Angolan mercenaries are wreaking havoc right across the African continent right now, destabilizing all the governments of oil producing countries on the continent. Let’s close up shop now and save everyone the heartache down the road. I’m also fearful the earth will implode in the coming weeks, so that might throw a wrench in our plans. Canada’s political leadership could go full ...more

Namibia and the United States work closely together on many things. Namibia is a member of the United Nations. Neither of those entities will allow that to happen. It's not like OPEC is going to tell Angola to invade. Who has been at war for 50 Years??? There is zero chance that South Africa will go to war with Namibia. If you really want to be concerned about something, worry about ...more

Thanks Cali,  for the civil reply.  I wasn't trying to alarm anyone. Some of the posters may know about markets but how about geography and history. At this point Angolia is basically a failed state. Not even China will lend money. They trade oil for food.  More people die from police/military than covid. Ask Yemen how things are going with opec ? How is Ethiopia and Somali ...more

Sovereign or geopolitical risk is usually slow to play out, starts small and gets bigger, you'll get plenty of warning that something is not right. It's rarely (if ever?) a complete rug pull.
