Drilling question for @TurnToTheRight

Is it possible that ReconAfrica’s recent drilling activity at 6-2 and 6-1 serve a dual purpose of exploration drilling and as appraisal wells?

Or would appraisal work require purchase and placement at the sites, of a completely different type of drill?

Last question (for now), would an appraisal well typically be in an entirely different location than earlier exploration/test wells?

I really don't think there's a difference between "exploration" and "appraisal" as to your questioins.   From everything I've read, the intent from these first three wells wasn't to try to drill three producers.    But instead give them three real data points which would help them tie in the seismic.    It wouldn't ...more

Agreed and they will now where to sip sub basins when the time comes according to average distances structures and business stategies ......they are already doing the math jmho. Regarding distances neccessity is the mother of invention !
