Hello everyone, Jimgeorge is back. I was the one who blew the whistle on Bronco Energy (remember them? $18 to zero when they were exposed as frauds). I now see a similar game with Recon. Their information releases are short on facts and intentionally misleading. (Just what exactly is a "Working" Petroleum System anyway?) The oil and gas shows they claim to have encountered in the first well - what exactly are they? Oil staining in samples? Gas detector readings? Oil shows in the sidewall cores? What did the well show? Any oi pay on logs? And if there was reservoir rock with oil "shows", did they run any drill stem tests?

Recon has basically released no information at all on the first well, just hype and innuendo. When (if) they ever release any actual facts I will present my technical interpretation. Till then BEWARE, they are definitely pumping the stock on misleading hype.

I have drilled a lot of wells and cut a lot of cores. By the time the core gets into the boxes you know whether there is live oil or not. You know whether there is porous reservoir rock with oil in it. The detailed analysis of porosity and permeability and mineralogy takes a qualified core lab about 2 days...just sayin....

What about Gas Chromatograph, and X-ray Diffractometer?  If you want to find out the quality of the oil, GC analysis is a must, no just by looking at the core in the box.  And Xray d for structure.  HCl testing for limestone presence?  All that take time, extraction of samples, possible cleanup before injection into the GC...etc And other many years of dealing with 3rd party
