Like neighboring South Africa's Karoo basin, it may host shale oil or gas similar to Permian shale. It is not worth anything as fracking is not allowed.

Mr. Duck as to your comment that "fraking is not a allowed" that may be true for the present but how long will that last with the desperation for energy?  I have been investing in South African companies, like SBSW, for over 10 years and will tell you the people there are not as accepting and passive as they are in the US.
