borrow rates

Are the banks getting nervous ? Short borrow rates up today - 9am 19.8 %-close 22.7 % Will be nice at 65%

The banks are in really bad shape so it is no surprise they are jacking up rates. But as they jack the rates up things only get worse. They are shooting themselves in the foot! Last night I was watching a tv show where a guy needed to pull his savings for his kid's critically needed operation and his bank would only give him $10,000.  I thought all bank accounts were insured to $100 ...more

Mr. Duck, if Recaf goes bankrupt don't the shares become worthless? Don't the markets collapse? How can shorts find buyers to settle their positions?
