  • Shell announced a fourth hydrocarbon discovery off the coast of Namibia today.
  • Shell and another supermajor, France's TotalEnergies, have recently made some large discoveries in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia.
  • Last year's massive deepwater discoveries, Shell's Graff and TotalEnergies' Venus, could be transformational for Namibia.

The "coat tail effect". With all the headlines about the stunning oil discoveries OFF SHORE in Namibia I am not surprised that some new investors would take a flyer and bid up Recaf. But I bet it does not last!
