Namibia had a vibrant free press and relatively efficient government that roots out corruption. Read all about these in the Namibian. I assure you some of the stories seem fanciful but you got to remember this is AFRICA!

A Chinese man and an Angolan woman were this week arrested for allegedly attempting to bribe an official of the Namibia Revenue Agency (Namra) with N$50 000.

According to Namra spokesperson Steven Ndorokaze, the man was arrested on Monday at Namra’s offices in Windhoek, while the woman was arrested on Tuesday at the offices of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

“The bribe was intended to influence the release of N$6 million belonging to a trading entity (of which the name is currently withheld), which has been subject to intervention (freezing),” Ndorokaze said.

In an unrelated matter, law-enforcement officers at Walvis Bay on Wednesday arrested a man in connection with fraud, tax evasion, racketeering, and money laundering. The alleged contravention is estimated to
