Aritizia - Q1 earnings out and surpassed expecatations

While different than RET, ATZ was the first retailer so far to release earnings (covering 3 months until May 29, 2022) and surpassed analyst expectations (as did Levi's yesterday). 

While much of the growth is coming from the US, the CDN sales were quite strong as well.  ATZ serves a different segment vs. RET, but the stocks are quite correlated in the consumer discretionary segment.  

Hoping this is a good sign for RET - we got a good jump yesterday, but no trades so far this morning.  We don't need a blow out quarter, just a decent one given current market cap. of company.

Their buyback also surpassed my expactations given company is expanding store count in US during inflationary times! Between January 17 and July 6 1,460,380 shares were bought back at an average price of $38.85 costing $56.7 million which is 5% of the public float  Here is where RET shareholders might want to pour themselves a stiff drink.
