Banks are not crashing so far, the few affected by some bank run due to depositors withdrawals in the news latey can easily be refloated/bought outright at a large discount by the biggies too big to fail . However if even one of the biggies would crash that would be the 2008 monetary crisis revisited. and a lot of startup co like RHT being wiped out\ with your invested money as well.

Because a lot of them (CO) did not survive the global monetary crash of 2008...which caused a lot of people globally to lose some of their investments

People love to spout doom and gloom.  Fear sells, I suppose.  I can't recall any stock I've owned or followed - and that would be a lot over decades - being affected by any bank failure/stress issue anywhere, ever.  I suppose its remotely possible, but highly unlikely, especially here in Canada.

Don't fall into the US doom and gloom hype.  Take a detailed look at the crashes that happened.  These are not global crashes but rather poor management and "the perfect storm" scenario is very investor specific banks.  ie: banks that needed only venture and start up money.  Canada's largest banks are far more diversified along with other safeguards that would ...more
