It's my opinion Market Makers are at work here and have been for a while!

For the newbies here to help you understand market makers are often brokerage houses that provide trading services for investors in an effort to keep financial markets liquid. A market maker can also be an individual trader (known as a local), but due to the size of securities needed to facilitate the volume of purchases and sales, the vast majority of market makers work on behalf of large institutions.

A market maker provides liquidity by standing ready to buy and sell. The market maker primarily attempts to profit by capturing the spread between where they buy (at the bid) and sell (at the offer).

A market mover is one of two things:

  1. A trader or institution which trades in size sufficient enough size to push the market bid/offer around.
  2. A person who has the credibility or position to give weight to their words so the markets listen to them and react to their comments.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • A market maker is a individual market participant or member firm of an exchange that also buys and sells securities for its own account, at prices it displays in its exchange's trading system, with the primary goal of profiting on the bid-ask spread, which is the amount by which the ask price exceeds the bid price a market asset.
  • The most common type of market maker is a brokerage house that provides purchase and sale solutions for investors in an effort to keep financial markets liquid.
  • Market makers are compensated for the risk of holding assets because they may see a decline in the value of a security after it has been purchased from a seller and before it's sold to a buyer.

So we way our time will come!

Market makers neither push up, nor hold down, a stock price: they provide liquidity, period. The reason RLV is at 2.5 cents: 1. It has been in default for 7 weeks 2. Has missed three consecutive filing deadlines 3. Has not closed any material deal in at least two months (see every midterm filing) 4. Is running out of cash 5. Its stock price is so ridiculously low that it can't even issue ...more

The market is looking at the average daily trading volume that is typically calculated over 20 or 30 days.   Market makers help keep the market functioning, meaning if you want to sell a stock, they are there to buy it. Similarly, if you want to buy, they are there to have that stock available to sell to you.   It is often felt that the Market Makers manipulate the prices. " ...more

EXACTLY - this stock and its trading volume are an embarrassment.   Trying to blame its downward trajectory on anything other than incompetence and lack of results is inane and laughable.

This is a prime example of how incompetent management and empty promises can ruin a company. Not too mention ruin a Covid play run the past week (RLV isn't really a Covid play but it isn't really a anything play at this point so we will lump it in there for now). If RLV management showed even a small amount of competence then I think RLV would be over 0.20$. But it's not, they can' ...more

As you say , Mr Skeptical, “ Trying to blame your downward trajectory on anything other than incompetence and lack of results is silly and ridiculous”. Because arrogance does not allow listening.  That is Aurelio's defect, arrogance, he tries to cover up his incompetence.  I once tried to advise him as a friend on marketing and his rude response was that his team of professionals ...more

At least you can say you tried to help: vanity + insecurity + incompetence = a potent cocktail for failure. We will see the grand unraveling in public...and his so-called colleagues MaterialWorld, Swint and P-Money will vanish, leaving him alone to twist in the wind.

Fantastic post neoneil. You hit the nail on the head. Kinda like fake news controlled by main stream media and election results through fake dominion ballot counters. It's the same thing. Endless lying for endless control for power and profit. Having said that, why would the Market Makers be interested in in RLV. It would have to be co-ordinated through AI Algorithm. Is every brokerage house a ...more

Great question MW, All exchanges are competing against each other. Many exchanges utilize a system of market makers, each competing against one another to set the best bid or offer in order to win the business of orders coming in. Exchanges want to make money too and a stock not moving is costing them $$$   Example; look at RLV volume of 1.5 M shares trading in the first hour this morning ...more

This is crazy. This much volume almost every day on no news. Can't wait until Aurelio and team release the good news. Share price will go through the stratosphere. It's coming.......MW

the demand has always existed, as well as the incompetence of the RLV team to satisfy it.  Team, which team?  .. No one is left in RLV, the same CEO took care of destroying the team.  Everyone, according to him, was bad and incompetent, except for him ... and her, the US marketing chief, of course.  Now there is no team, but debts, bad decisions and lies, many lies.  Poor ...more

Why would a Montreal-based CEO of a $3 million company have a US VP of Marketing?  Why isn't she listed on any public documents or on their website??  Where did she come from out of the blue? Very intriguing....does the Board even know about this hire?

Tax loss selling mainly from 2 people today from what I can see. Or people who got spooked as we are on the edge of news. For someone to buy at the low, someone needs to sell at the low.
