BMO Mines and Metal Conference....

BMO hosted a conference in Boca this week. Freeport was presenting. Not sure of the content of their presentation, or if Serbia was mentioned, but I am polling my contacts to see if anyone has any information. I believe that a webcast of the event will be available sometime next week.

I looked at the slides online today and there was no mention of any green field projects. They did say that the 5 big projects they have are producing or have the potential to produce 1,000,000,000 pounds of copper per year.  Are best poster said he expects we will get to 5 or 6 billion pounds of copper, and that this assumption is probably already expected by the analysts. For this to be a ...more

The Cukaru Peki porphyry is already world-class Freeport size and is open at depth and to all directions except the south. The absence of in-fill drilling thus far is the reason it can't be formally recognized as such.

I agree it is world class and the best discovery in years. I was just trying to point out how large their other mines are. The latest GMP report just posted  put the porphyry (still to be proved by drilling) at 250mt @ .9%. If i did my math right this is 4.5 billion pounds. Add that to the almost 4 billion pounds in the high grade and we are at about 9 billion pounds. Great resource but we ...more

Rob, you seem like a very nice guy-- but let the geos, engineers and other mining experts do the analysis. Read the Scotiabank update research note stating that the Cukari Peki porphyry is comparable to the Grasberg porphyry both in size and grade.

I wish I could get the Scotia bank reports and updates but I beleive you have to be a client.

I looked at the recent slides for freeport and see where Scotia Bank is comparing our discovery with Grasberg. Grasberg open pit has 258 mm mt with a grade of .90. So our size as it stands by Scotia might prove out to be almost as big as the open pit. That is without other discoveries or widening the footprint. Grasberg open pit has been mined for many years the 258 mm mt is what is left and is ...more

Good post. We are doing great but Grasberg is a small city. 30k people I think work there. Maybe some will move to bor and drive up property values there;) In all fairness probably a good buy there right now! RMC is on 3rd base and looking to steal home. Crazy good week. GLTA.
