First Quantum/Lumina Deal: Implications for RMC

Any thoughts on the implications of this deal for RMC? Perhaps it may signal the beginning of dealmaking and consolidation in the copper space. The approximate 30% premium paid, given that Lumina's project is in Argentina, sounds about right.  It would seem that RMC's assets are significantly more undervalued and that RMC would command a premium of at least 50% if not significantly more. The window of time for Freeport to make a move is closing with drill rigs due to arrive on site at RMC's 100% owned property soon.

I would agree RMC is undervalued since we have analyst estimates at $9.00, and that is without any valuation of the potential porphyry or the 100% owned targets. There is a chance that our Cukaru Peki discovery might have more high grade deposits like the clusters found at Bor. Hole 1332 they drilled to the north that was 2,160 meters (drilled at an angle towards 1335) intersected  high grade ...more
