Route1 Inc > Cyber Security?

Cyber Security?

This is a headline and story on the Stockhouse home page. Where does Route1 fit these days on a cyber security basis as opposed to a "mobile" phone business. Was that discussed at all in the CC?

Headline suggests cyber security is one of the world's fastest growing investment opportunities. Is that where we are primarily positioned?

For what seems to be a relatively new player on the block these guys seem to be able to sign new contracts with the U.S. Fed. Gov't. And ROI has been there for many, many years? Maybe just a different product that happens to be in vogue? Or??   Plurilock signs $280,000 (U.S.) in U.S. gov't contracts   2021-05-26 10:11 ET - News Release   Mr. Ian Paterson reports ...more

The cyber security business is getting a fair amount of press these days but I'm not really sure if ROI is as dedicated to that segment of the business as they once were. I'll have to read the transcript just posted by lscfa Most of Us Still Aren't Prepared for Another Major Cyberattack FTNT, PANW, FEYE, V.PLUR | 1 hour ago It’s only a matter of time before we’re hit with another ...more

With ROI trading at less than half of it's recent peak value, it would seem obvious that it hasn't been selling anything of note in that vast cyber security market. Has ROI actually closed any new orders in 2021?? dyodd knowsjack

I guess it's a different segment of the cyber industry but these Plurilock guys seem to be very aggressive in the marketing end of things - at least early on. Not sure if they have been in the business for over 10 years. This is not what you would call a big contract but it may be a foot in the door. Again it is likely a completely different segment of cyber security. Victoria, British ...more

Interesting how competing firms in the cyber security space continue to fill their order books. No problem. As we appoach the halfway point in the year, does ROI have any entries in it's new order book for 2021 or are blank pages staring back at them?  dyodd knowsjack

Another DoD contract for Plurilock. Maybe we could contract their sales people to sell ROI equipment. They appear to be quite aggressive in making things happen. Victoria, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - June 8, 2021) - Plurilock Security Inc. (TSXV: PLUR) (OTCQB: PLCKF) and related subsidiaries ("Plurilock" or the "Company"), an identity-centric cybersecurity solutions ...more

I'm looking at the stock you are mentioning here. Last trade at .51 cents. Down today. Not exactly an impressive chart. No better than ROi for the last 2 years. I see no reason to switch out to this stock unless you see something i don't
Comment by Pandora on Jun 08, 2021 1:39pm
Nope, no thoughts about 'switching' out. Just find it interesting that there is a few actions going on with contracts with the DoD. I seem to recall stories as to how there is a very narrow window in which contracts can happen. Can't remember the story in detail without going back and looking at a lot of stuff but it was to the effect that the approval process for budgets, etc. was so ...more

Most of Route1 shareholders now has move on to faster making money which is gold  penny stocks, not cyber security, and I cannot blame them.

Yes, over the past 3 months or so it seems the tech side of Venture stocks have certainly been abandoned. Can't even get a decent amount of vonversation on any of the boards. Seems like a move to gold, crypto, pot and the likes - although crypto has been hit pretty bad this last couple of weeks with the likes of Elon Musk mucking about. Also the lack of news in many of my stocks just keeps ...more

Interesting note re the Putin-Biden summit meeting where Putin did an interview after the meeting and a question was put to him about Russia doing all this latest cyber hacking. Putin claimed Russia had nothing to do with it and he then went on to say that the U.S. was the biggest perpetrator of hacking and in second place was Canada. How's that for recognition? Maybe we're on the wrong ...more

Interesting to note, "The order is part of "SEWP V", the latest version of GWAC, which NASA released in May 2015 and boasts the largest pool of contractors yet as well as detailed and automatic reporting to Chief Information Officers ("CIOs") in order to help meet Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act" (how did this read in reference  to ...more

How many years has ROI been serving the U.S. gov't? And it is so well known it doesn't even get honourable mention? As I've said before "what's in a name" but that's a side issue.
