Timmins West Block
a) there were 2 historical drill holes in this block, DDH's 96-16 and 98-01, put down by Royal Oak Mines and International Canalaska Resources respectively. Both were drilled in a southwesterly direction, into isolated magnetic anomalies. The latter is a circular anomaly, while the former is a short NW/SE linear feature. However, referring to Map 82053, it will be noted that the magnetic anomaly that DDH 96-16 drilled, appears to be dipping towards the southwest. Drilled down-dip??
b) In OFR 6042, refer to Figure 4. Note the synclinal and anticlinal features in the area of RTM's property. If this interpretation is correct, it will have a bearing on what any future drill hole directions will be.
c) Referring to Map 82047, it is noted that DDH 96-16 has a strong GEOTEM Time Domain EM response for a conductor that is estimated to be 112m deep. However, there was no airborne response for DDH 98-01, so they must have been drilling on the basis of the magnetic anomaly only. Note the weak, isolated airborne anomaly about 400m northeast of DDH 96-16.
d) there were no obvious Dighem Helicopter Frequency Domain bedrock anomalies intercepted within the West Block. There was no EM response near DDH 96-16, but there were a few, very weak Grade 1 anomalies (Grade 7 being the strongest), which gave a conductance of < 1 siemen. There is plenty of swamp in this area.
