With a rich historical backdrop and a legacy of lucrative gold reserves, the Reefton Goldfield in New Zealand is on the brink of resurgence, with RUA GOLD (RUA.c or NZAUF for US investors) positioning itself as a player in the revitalization the region's gold production.
At the heart of RUA GOLD's approach lies the rejuvenation of Reefton's historic mines alongside exploration for new prospects. Through methodical surveying and careful analysis, the company has uncovered promising prospects.
Among these finds is the Pactolus system, a 2021 surface greenfield discovery that has already shown encouraging results. Initial drill assays have unveiled substantial gold deposits, including intervals of 2 meters @ 5.13g/t Au and 2 meters @ 3.61g/t Au.
Preliminary assessments affirm that the system has significant mineralization evident at surface and towards the south along strike.
RUA GOLD is gearing up to commence a drilling campaign, starting with 5 targets within Reefton's Murray Creek historic area. These targets encompass various prospects, from extensions of known mineralized zones to structural anomalies adjacent to active mines, each presenting an opportunity to tap into the area's potential.
Recent surface samples collected from one of the Murray Creek targets returned values of 56.2, 48, and 33.3 g/t Au, with visible gold present. Moreover, trenching activities along the surface of this target revealed intervals of 3m @ 31.7 g/t Au, including 2m @ 47.1 g/t Au.
