The escalating costs of fertilizer and food highlight the growing importance of domestic potash production in the United States. Despite being a major agricultural producer globally, the US currently only produces about 6% of its annual potash consumption. Sage Potash Corp (SAGE.v) endeavors to position itself as a key player in the American potash industry, addressing this critical requirement for domestic supply.

Central to SAGE's aspirations is the Sage Plain Potash Project, which houses what is believed to be the largest untapped potash deposit in the United States. With an inferred resource estimated at 280 million metric tonnes, the project possesses the potential for a colossal reserve. Its substantial resource base suggests the capability to support decades of production. Additionally, the project's favorable formation temperature and high potash purity make it well-suited for solution mining methods.
Solution mining involves the use of water to dissolve potash. This method entails drilling wells into the potash-rich area, where water is pumped down to initiate the dissolution of potassium chloride (KCl), the desired potash product. The resulting brine is then extracted to the surface and transported via pipelines to the processing plant. This approach minimizes surface and environmental impact, offering a more sustainable solution.
SAGE expects that it can start producing potash from the Sage Plain Project within the next 1-2 years. Currently SAGE is preparing for a Phase 1 Drill Hole Program and the creation of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the property.
