Great DD on this board

Anyone have a buyout price in mind? Seems like the grade of resource and how they can access it (i.e., incline ramp), this asset would be an ultra low cost producer and thus a cash cow machine. The cost of rock salt is ~$60 - $80 US/ton; so if the entire resource is produced that's ~$60 to ~90 billion worth of salt over the life of the project. Would $1 to $2 billion (including the salt dome spin out) be attainable as a buyout?

Cheers

Hurko97, you should be ashamed, put him on ignore, he just signed up yesterday... but the good part, SALT is getting such excellent visibility, it is attracting the pump and dumpers of other stocks.

Yes Life,  I report them for spamming and "ignore" everytime.    Good rundown of SALT on one of your previous posts by the way...we have the goods now it's waiting for the news at anytime for the drilling progress at least, after that, the future looks bright.  Still haven't sold a single share and will continue to hold on this investment.  Should be an ...more

buy out targets? I've been a SALT shareholder since the fall.
Comment by GrinningClown on Mar 27, 2022 3:11pm
Personally I'm thinking between $6.30 and $12.30 per share but the salt dome could go for a few hundred million on top of that.

Many here, me included, don't believe that a buyout will happen ...  that being said, your numbers are realistic, but only once the feasibility study is completed and this resource is in production.  A lot will happen this year.  Mark this, 2022 is Atlas's year.   All the best, two...

You think they'll develop the mine themselves? I think it's going to be close to $100 million in CAPEX to get it built. What are your thoughts on how they go about raising this money? Financing, JV or dilution? I could see Compass snatching this up.
Comment by twoponds on Mar 27, 2022 5:50pm
I believe they will develop it themselves, I won't speculate not just on numbers but on how they would come up with any if needed funding as we don't even have a feasibility study completed yet, no mine design, no structure designs for convyances...who can know?  Anything else will only be speculation.  One thing is certain, and that's that this mine will be a low-cost ...more

I don't feel like Rowland came out of retirement to build a new mine but I could be wrong. Yes FS is required before we can speculate on anything but I do agree if they go with incline ramp it will be a very low cost producer.

I heard that when Pugwash was on strike they were told accept the contract or produchion will be moved to NL. I do think that some of the bigger players are foaming at the mouth over Atlas. But time will tell.

I'm still fairly convinced Rowland is looking to package these assets up for spin/buyout.
Comment by lifegoeson on Mar 28, 2022 9:55am
GrinningClown, I think Rowland is only looking to package these assets for a buyout. WHY - a buyout is the quickest return for current shareholders, including Rowland. Building a producing mine and providng dividends would be a much more expensive and longer process. Sure Rowland is a seasoned guy with lots of get go, but he isn't 40 years old anymore. A buyout would provide shareholders with ...more

all very good points, Rowland has maintained that whatever they do will be in the best interest of shareholders. If someone comes along and offers $1 - $1.5 billion I think they'd go for it. JMO

"So you think rowland is an idiot?" They must lol...he, Rowland ain't here for the quick buck but some here think he is because he isn't 40 years old anymore.  They also are naive to think he "looks out for shareholders" lol...they/he couldn't give a rats a$$ about shareholders...period.  Shareholders are a means to an end and that's it.  Anyone ...more

Agreeded, with one exception if say someone backed up a dump truck of money and its a great offer, I think he will advise sell. If its a lowball offer, he will tell them to pound sand. And yea noone cares about me and my shares except me. When exec are looking out for the stock, it because it is benificial to them.

Accepting $12.6 to $18.9 per share would make him an idiot? What kind of price targets do you guys have in mind? Holy cow
