NPV

Anyone that like to crunch GA NPV numbers, read the economic section of this report.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1227654/000122765421000309/cmp-20210930xxex964goderic.htm

Very good benchmark to play with numbers.

Don't forget to remove the taxes & VUL 3% Royalty.

IMO.

I like to 'crunch' numbers hehe.. But you cant really compare Atlas to godridge. Its kind of like honeycrisp apples vs the cheap ones in a discount store. Godridge has a lot of expenses that Atlas will not have. Atlas will exceed the production of godridge, Have ramps, minimal employees, continious ramp/conveyors etc etc etc.. Much more valueable and profirable then godridge.

I agree, just a good starting point to compare and understand things. How would a conveyor get feeded inside the mine as the mine expands?  Do they still use trucks to bring the salt in a strategic area? MoneyK

Nice SEC document find MoneyK....it actually explains how much of an advantage, as Rowly states, that Atlas has over Goderich costwise.   Continuous miners have a built in conveyor system that can be linked to the permanent main conveyor line quite easily as they mine a drift, like a tether that can be extended to put it simply.  That in itself is ridiculously cost effective to ...more

Yes, it does help, but still not obvious for me to understand how they can move around in that huge resource and at depth with simply a mill and conveyors. In terms of production, is it possible to start at 2M tons and increase by 2M per year or thats too aggresive from a technical stand point? Id be curious to know how much tons one mill and conveyor can support per year. At a certain point they ...more

MoneyK: Your questions and comments are educational for most on this board, as they reinforce the value that this project brings to the table. While anything is possible, keep in mind the most likely senerio is that Atlas will never develop this mine, but will sell it to someone in the business like a Cargill or Morton. Those guys will have their own plans and people to take this to where they ...more

I agree and also see this sold before its in production, but from my limited experience, the selling price should align with the NPV to a certain extend. After, if someone wants to badly control the salt market, its anyones guess where the price tag will be. If id be a big player wanting this, I would buy 9.99% of Salt and Vulcan for cheap and make a juicy offer to Vulcan Mineral to control most ...more

I've seen some NPV calculations on CEO and people were using around 150M for capex.  Does this make sense?  Seems like a pretty simple mine with plenty of access.  I suppose that 1 year to build would be enough? When crunching my numbers and keeping it very simple ($150M capex (year 1), 4M tons per year (LOM) at $80 per ton, $25M after-tax profit per ton, 8% discount rate ...more

Royalty check !  Love it , with VULCAN owining 32 million shares and getting some TRIPPLE POINT shares in the spin out  this is setting them up pretty good . Vulcan could receive around 200 million for their shares alone , they could also get royalty checks from TPR salt domes where the Green Hydrogen will be stored . They have other deals in NL with outstanding royalty's .They have ...more

If Great Atlantic goes in production, only VUL's 3% Royalty could be worth that amount. Still unclear for me what a net production royalty is, but if its the same as NSR, thats a real juicy check every year for many decades! After that, add 36% of a potential sale... lets say maybe 36% of 1B US to 1.5B US? After, convert that in CDN dollars... Plus all the rest... The more I dig, the better it ...more

I think the investors are ignoring about Capital Budgeting concepts as the stock price keeps going down. In fact, Atlas Salt lost more than 25% of its peak value over the last two weeks for no reason.
Comment by Liked2Think on Aug 29, 2022 10:53am
what do you think will happen when they approve the spin out in 2 days and then they set a price per share of the new company? If its set to $0.50/share then SALT will go down $0.50 at a minimum.
Comment by NLMoose on Aug 29, 2022 12:00pm
Triple Point Resources is technically an independent company as it spun off from Atlas Salt.
Comment by silentrunning on Aug 29, 2022 5:18pm
Meds not help that brain infection you suffer...French revolution mechanical devices may be an alternative you need to seek lol Ioi.... conversely, Triple Point Resources starts at $50.00 then $SALT will go UP to $50.00 at a minimum.
Comment by Liked2Think on Aug 29, 2022 6:06pm
a split out of a $3.52/share company starts at $50 and you are saying others suffer from a brain infection?

Are you still here. Everytime you open your mouth, the collective IQ of the board takes a hit. You are like a black hole of intellengence, sucking out reason and replacing it with "duhhhh Global warming is real, eat your bugs, extended warranty? How could I lose?"

But there is a reason. The Hydrogen announcement was a fizzle. It sets ambitious targets for establishment of exports and nothing more. Price was driven above $4 on expectations that there would be more concrete impact to Triple Point and there simply wasn't, so risk averse investors are taking their gains. Who wouldn't? Anyone that invested any time from the beginning of this year to the ...more

Spot on Canticle. Even when you take the time period around the end of May when the stock was low to mid-$2, there was a lot of gain built up until hitting almost $4.50 a couple weeks back. I knew the share price would be driven based on the spin-out but never dreamed it would hit $4.50. I watched it struggle to break $4.00 as I thought that was the threshold! However, there was nothing to support ...more

this is not speculative. The salt is there.
Comment by Zephyr on Aug 30, 2022 11:36am
Lol....of course the salt is there. That's not the speculative part. The speculation is what's it worth to a buyer as either a (i) undeloped asset and/or (ii) a developed mine. There are prices ranging from $4-$12...to $48....to even $76 per share. So, you are saying there's no speculation in there? The speculation will only be narrowed when more revelant info is put in the market ...more

Comment by Canticle on Aug 30, 2022 11:37am
It's speculative until the salt is being pulled out of the ground. There is no mine, no buyer, no cash flow. It's speculative until there is. There's plenty of resources that are there that nobody is accessing. Plenty of companies with resources that are there that for one reason or another they can't access. Any company that isn't producing something is speculative ...more
