COURT APPROVAL FOR TRIPLE POINT

Now that the courts have given the green light how high will SALT shares trade heading up to September 21st? Any predictions?
Comment by Canticle on Sep 08, 2022 2:15pm
It was generally considered a foregone conclusion with little risk, it probably just caps the floor of the share price before spinout at $3. I'm narrowing it to a $3 - $4 pre spinout range. After Spinout I see Atlas Salt trading between $2-$3, maybe above $3, until there's more news for movement. Anyone who paid attention to people saying back up the truck when it was over $3.50 are ...more

even if there is an offer imo it will no0t exceed $4-$5 but it was a good run
Comment by Willsridge on Sep 08, 2022 2:54pm
10 dollars a share buy out

Strange comment considering that Compass has a market cap of $1.4B US with most likely a much higher production cost? Even when considering that their Goderich mine is 80% of the business, I feel we still a long way to go from our current level. IMO. MoneyK

A buyout could go as high as $12 in my estimates, but thats assuming a buyout happens. I was replying more to the highs for this year.
Comment by TeamEddie on Sep 08, 2022 3:51pm
why would anyone pay 12 for a 10 year mine life why? do you think they will assume there will be winters for decades
Comment by Scionxb777 on Sep 08, 2022 5:05pm
There will be winters in Canada for the next 100 plus years the mine life yes not 10 years
Comment by Canticle on Sep 08, 2022 9:58pm
10-15 years is what investments are made on, not the theoretical lifespan of the mine, that's why he keeps saying 10 years. All a long resource life provides to investors or companies looking to develop is a solid assurance the resource will be there for the time horizon they expect to be committed to.

also I find it impossible to imagine a risk assessment not including climate change  I could be wrong but it would shock me to see a buyout based on more than 10 years
Comment by Crunchy2chew on Sep 09, 2022 4:23am
Climate change is the drug of a fool. Seriously burps and farts are not going to heat up the planet. There has been no significant change in the temp of the planet and one volcano eruption is .... well its not even worth argueing with you.  But if is makes you happy, live your fantasy.
Comment by Scionxb777 on Sep 09, 2022 1:08pm
Where do you live ? Do you realize how bad the winters are in Canada ?
Comment by TeamEddie on Sep 09, 2022 2:03pm
do you realize in the next 10 years they are expected to be mild at worst as I am sure you must realize any company doing a risk assessment will contemplate that info and use it in calculations for an offer  Which is why I think we will be better of building the mine ourselves and getting over $7 next winter if its a heavy snowfall
Comment by Zephyr on Sep 09, 2022 2:15pm
TeamEddie, I'm sure that will be factored in (along with a plethora of other factors). However, the weight assigned to it may not be as great as you think. For example, you are decrying that the sky is falling and as part of my research, to build a detailed model, I found this excerpt from a 'pay-for' report (which I'm not going to buy)..... The global Rock Salt market Growth is ...more
Comment by TeamEddie on Sep 09, 2022 2:17pm
So you will base your view on a report you wont pay for over every single top scientific agency in the world does that make sense to you in 10 years winters will be much milder any risk assessment will see that
Comment by Scionxb777 on Sep 09, 2022 2:32pm
But they said that 20 years ago and the winters are worse. I drive Goderich to London three days a week . It has only gotten worse !
Comment by Canticle on Sep 09, 2022 4:03pm
Warming global temperatures doesn't mean winters disappear. No expert says that except people setting up a straw man they want to knock down. Warming temperatures have multiple impacts which have already demonstrated their effects. Warming ocean waters and higher humidity results in changing weather patterns and often more precipitation, which means winters may be more extreme, thunderstorms ...more

Canticle, there are many mant scientists that say the 'climate crisis' is BS. Yes the climate changes. It alway has and always will as we are not in a static environment but rather it isdynamic. It does so wrt the sun, sun spots and the varying output from the star, and even the region of space that we are moving through as the sun moves through regions of higher and lower energy density ...more
Comment by Zephyr on Sep 09, 2022 2:34pm
Lol, what are you talking about! Nobody is ignoring science and yes, it's likely that temps may increase (on average 1-2 degrees, on average). Oh, and yes, it does make sense to me. I'm not sure where you live but I'm East Coast of Canada and the milder winters require more de-icing (not less). The milder winters mean that the constant precipitation melts quicker and in the evenings ...more

Explain where you live your info makes no sense
Comment by Crunchy2chew on Sep 08, 2022 5:58pm
The bigger question Eddie, do you think cow farts will eliminate winters. You sound like a trudeau voter.
Comment by Canticle on Sep 08, 2022 9:51pm
That would be a little over a billion, which for a low margin, low cost producer capable of significant free cash flow after the first year wouldn't be unheard of. Not the likeliest scenario and in my personal opinion it would be a best case scenario. So far, Atlas Salt has performed exactly as I expected so hoping it continues to do so.
