My guess:TotalEnergies may be Galp's partner

Total has anounced its drilling a surprise exploration well at the far northern edge of its prolific Namibian block 56 adjacent to Mopane. In fact it is only a few miles {?15-20 mis} away from Mopane .Looking for extension of Mopane into its block? Looking for synergies to develop Galp's PEL 83 and Totals PEL 56 field ?

Stay tuned.

We are in great shape. I pick up more shares

Maybe they're just looking to steal the oil right out from under galps nose. Beat them to the punch.

If the  Mopane oil field is big enough to extend into PEL 56 there will be plenty of oil for everyone. Plus it would encourage some cooperation from both parties, Galp and Total; no one will be "stealing" oil. I would be delighted to have Total or Chevron develop the block{s}. Remember Chevron is next door to PEL 83 too JMO Farrell

.. and Exxon goes for the Saturn prospect (the CEO of Woodside, the company which will become operator of our block, is an Ex Exxon employee) but who is going to buy Sintana: Total or Chevron or Exxon? Or Petrobras?
