David jumps overboard...

SFF – I am out!
Hi everyone. Today was a good day. I finally decided to sell SFF and although I took a massive loss, I feel a huge weight has been released off my shoulders. I have never taken a loss the size of the one I took today, but to move on and have a fresh start is one of the best feelings in the world. Although I believe SFF has future potential, investor confidence is gone and even good news may cause no reaction from the market. The management team has been terrible and I wrote them an e-mail today. Trust me it wasn’t a pretty one. Thanks to the knowledgeable people here on StockXXX, I feel confident I can make it back. The past few months have been extremely depressing watching the value of my portfolio plummet while missing out on huge opportunities. Many successful business men fail before they make it and I have to admit I failed on SFF. I was misled by poor management and didn’t protect myself with stop loses. Going forward I will only invest in revenue generating, profitable companies with growth profiles, and I understand the importance of diversification and setting stop loses. This alleviates a lot of risk. ..........
Unfortunately I involved a few others in SFF and I want to apologize to those who chose to follow my lead. This is a fresh start for me with a slightly smaller size portfolio for now. I will look to recover my loses by making much better investment decisions and I truly believe that this experience has made me a better investor.
..............................................
Good luck David. We must be getting very close to a bottom.

You can't be out today, the market is closed. Maybe you got on Friday or will be out on Monday. I do agree that it is close to the bottom. Now that you are out the stock can make it's move.

David posted that information on his blog late Friday afternoon pursuable after he had sold his shares. I personally picked up a few more thousand shares on Friday, and plan to add again next week. At this price point I see bargain where others including David cannot wait to unload and more on.

This was David MacLachlan who posted earlier that he still believed in the project. The augmentation of management was the indicator to me to buy more shares. Perhaps I bought David's on Friday. My average share price is 31 cents now, so it will be just over that of the new managements when the new PP is filled. I feel comfortable knowing that new management is willing to pay a premium to get ...more

This is exactly how inexperienced trades can lose money. He jumps ship at the low point in SFF and puts his money in to the high into SCG. No SFF starts to recover and SCG begins to drop. Not to say that SCG doesn't have any potential but I see this far too often.

Listen I jumped ship because I see much more potential in SCG then SFF.  I am not even the slightest bit upset that I made the switch.  Sure there was a nice run-up today and I'm happy for everyone who held on.  If you look at the chart, during the vicious pitfall since December though, SFF had a few up ticks only to resume the the down trend.  I would be shocked to see SFF ...more

I guess my move wasn't so bad afterall! I believe SCG is the Canada's next biggest corporation. Their business model is too good. They provide banking and credit services for the underbanked or unbanked population. They are innovating the banking system. They are releasing their first quarter results by the end of May and it will be a turning point. I strongly suggest you buy this ...more

So you guarantee the purchase. If it goes down I can count on you to cover my losses?
Comment by dmaclachlan86 on May 25, 2011 3:59pm
Well I guaranteed and if you had listened you could've made a hefty 20% today.  Not bad.  I see it going much higher but things don't look too bad for SFF either.  Your money, your decision.  Maybe diversify between the 2.  A lot more money being poured into SCG.  I got to go where the money is going.  Good luck.Dave

I own SCG at 30 cents. I like the story. Sorry for giving you a hard time. Good luck with your investments, and that includes SCG!
