The story began

back in 2021 with Crescat 41 at 27:20.  I wish I had paid for attention to it back then!

I sat up and paid attention when QH had a pillowcase made with the Snowline logo on it, which he slept with every night.  I figured for him to do that meant this was a 'dream come true', in his opinion.  I bought after that, even though the price was already 2.70 by then.

Great Bear Res was purchased for 1.8 billion CAD.  If we assume that this is what majors and mid-tier gold companies are willing to pay:  1.8 billion divided by 140 million shares = $12.85 CAD/share.  The share price should still be a double from this point. All of these Yukon/BC explorers tank during the winter.  I bought last winter at what I thought was the low.  I ...more

I agree with Rediredgeo on his assessment of Snowline. Knowing what I know of it I think it's worth $12 to $15 a share if a buyout were to happen given that SGD has 142 million shares outstanding. So that is if a buyout were to happen relatively soon but if we go another year with no buyout what value will the market put on Snowline. Maybe it just hangs around the one billion ...more

does the amount of total ounces in the deposit, concentration g/ton, extraction techiches costs per ton or recovery percentages have anything to do with someone just shelling out $1.8 billion. LOL

In the absence of such data a historical assumption has to be made.  You can disagree with the assumption as you see fit.

Wow - ya a  lot of assumptions and I do disagree with them. I say $7.8 billion since we are making very broad assumptions. Get a grip on your assumptions and be practical. 2.5 g/ton barely can be assumed to Great Bear's higher grade resource.

There is a historical precedent for a purchase price of 1.8 billion CAD.  There haven't been many such precedents in recent years.  In a very small data set you have to go with what you have got. If you want to dream of $7.8 billion I hope that you are right.

sure thing - precedent is the only thing that matters and not the llfe of mine or the amounts of gold in it or the costs to extract it.
Comment by Retiredgeo on Aug 08, 2023 11:01am
Do you have any such data?
Comment by SunsetGrill on Aug 08, 2023 11:10am
Do you?? I dont think someone pays $1.8 billion without it. But apparanly you do
Comment by SunsetGrill on Aug 08, 2023 11:29am
There is historical precendent for people paying $144 US per barrel of brent crude oil back in 2008 but how about now...........your argument is ridiculous and your not far from the same descrptor - how about a PEA first
