ES Overhang

I agree with an earlier poster (sorry cannot remember the one), who stated selling pressure the last several weeks is coming from ES. I think it is obvious. If ES gets a NO vote on his controlling interest, he is gonna have to sell a lot of shares since he has a lot of unexercised in the money warrants. THE MARKET KNOW IT meaning other big boy/savy investors who are the ones to move the stock. No savy investor is gonna buy now and will wait for the price to go down. ES can meanwhile can get great returns on his shares going back to 2018.

If he gets a YES vote, the price will spike sharply and all the great drill results and market cap comparisions to other area plays will get priced in.

What am I missing here? Why is this scenerio so difficult to understand?

" selling pressure the last several weeks is coming from ES " There's nothing about the "concept" that is difficult to understand.  However, the reality is that there should be an obvious trail of evidence to sustain the reality (or not) of that concept. Cdn gov't regulations mandate that registered insiders "must file an insider report within 5 calendar ...more

Blindboy, thanks for posting the guidance. However, keep in mind that the above does not stop any back door deals. Sometimes you will see large buys/sells in a stock on an otherwise uneventlful day.  Take a look at SIC's trading pattern the past few weeks on how it trades on large volumes within a small range. Buyers know they are taking a chance on it going down if there is a NO vote ...more

BC, don't you think the market expects a "Yes" vote.....? By the way, anyone know when the meeting today will be (has been?) held and when news of the results will be released....?.....Nothing on SiC's News web page yet.......

"don't you think the market expects a "Yes" vote.....? Do your words above not equal the word uncertainty? That is my point. The market does not like uncertainty and how the vote could affect the trading and stock price is an overhang on the stock. Whatever the vote, the stock price will correct.    BC

BC, I would argue that, in many instances, market players consider the probability of an anticipated result and position themselves according to what is likely to happen before that result is confirmed. If the expected event occurs, not much changes re. share price as the expected event is already "baked into the cake". If the expected event does not happen, THEN there's a big move ...more

If it's a no vote (where the company wanted a yes) it will be the first time I ever saw one in any of the many different companies I've had interest in over the past 30 years... Never ever seen one come close even...a formality my thought..
