Confusion Abounds ...

SQI has never said they are developing a rapid Covid test to determine if someone has Covid( at least not that I am aware of)

Yet that continues to be the talk on this board. Why?

Unless I'm wrong, SQI appears to be developing an Antibody test that will ascertain whether someone has HAD Covid in the past (it has been said that the number of cases might be up to 10 times higher than reported due to asymptomatic people and or mild cases). The game changer would be to determine if one has sufficient antibodies left in their system so as to reduce or eliminate the likelihood of reinfection, the infection of others,  and for how long.

imagine the value of an accurate antibody test in clearing people to be able to work, travel, mix with others, go about their business safely, etc.

it has nothing to do with ascertaining whether or not someone is Covid positive at a MOMENT IN TIME.

SQI would therefor NOT be on a list of companies vying for approval for a rapid test to determine if someone HAS Covid  AT A MOMENT IN TIME.

if you think about it... as important ( more so?) with this stealth disease, is determining if you HAD  it ( perhaps without knowing it) and perhaps the extent to which you are incapable of getting it again ( yes there are cases of people getting it a second time) and or capable of infecting others going forward!

Also once vaccines are ready, imagine the value in knowing for how long you ( and the people around you) are incapable of getting infected, by virtue of the antibodies in your (their) system.

Maybe I'm in crazy-town but that is how I see it.

MM you are correct in your analysis. At least in my posts I never claimed that SQI was developing rapid tests to determine if One has COVID 19.  Additionally the list I referenced to had Three companies at least that were being looked at for approvals for both rapid test and lab test to determine for antibodies.  The question I believe is why stay under the radar and how that helps ...more

"The question I believe is why stay under the radar and how that helps the stock. "-RG I have three theories ... ( and only theories) 1. The owners call the shots and the owners do not give permission to Mgt to promote, unless and until the science is validated ( in particular by the FDA in NA). The fact that they could make money in the interim,  via promotion, before known ...more

MM would option 2 mean sale of entire comosny or specific technology.  if entire company I would assume that will be good for shareholders on both sides.  i agree re option 3. Too many smart and successful people behind it for that to be the case.

Could be the whole Company or it could be spun off in chunks.  there are at least five valuable and somewhat distinct subgroups  1. organ Transplant assessments (UHN for now)  2. d2c (celiac, RA, + more to be added ? 3. Multiplexing for the drug / biotech industry in general ( efficiency, lowering costs)  4. Covid Triage testing (send patients home or admit them based ...more

Imo it don't make sense to sell it off into sub groups. The technology is based off of the labs and software.  From the experience of the new ceo.  It looks to me they will be developing the products, this will expand into many different products and services.  The new ceo has the experience to manufacture and set up manufacturing plants, he will bring this company from R&D ...more
