Lung Bioengineering (a division of United Therapeutics with a $10B market cap and $2B in revenue annually) will likely be SQI's biggest partner or customer in the USA (for TORdx) and along with it will come all of the transplant facilities it has partnered with during the trial and after. This needs to be better understood/explained.
It seems SQI's new $5K point of care device that the TORdx tests can be run on will also be available at all participating sites across the USA where in some cases the organ will be tested and used without the need for transfer to the Lung Bioengineering reconditioning centers. For the majority of Lungs they will be sent to LBE for conditioning. Of those, more than half will then be in condition for use elsewhere after having received EVLP CLES protocols as per UHN. This will all take place in hours given the infrastructure and benefit of technology from all involved.
Potential visibility for just this one product is very compelling. This could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars to SQI over the years ahead, and given that the infrastructure is already largely in place via LBE and UHN, ramp up should be efficient as soon as final approvals are received. This will benefit so many.
The US Government has indicated it is open for change in order to facilitate increased volume of transplants, better meeting the needs of its citizens. SQI is at the right place at the right time to make a significant impact. Shaf Keshavjee (UHN) has had this transplant ecosystem vision along with LBE for many years. SQI has an important role to play, even if hardly anyone knows it exists.
SQI has game changing technology/products and Directors that have incredible influence and power to push this forward for the benefit of all. There is an incredible opportunity here.
Theranos was all marketing with no solid technology, where SQI has solid technology but no real marketing. SQI is the real thing and is supported/partnered by/with the best of the best. SQI's partners recognize its value as do those involved. With the financial return, number of lives helped/saved, and benefit to health care settings, this is a huge no-brainer for anyone that has intimate knowledge of role SQI has to play.
