No One Knows....

.....but there are some realities.

Dr. Peter Hotez, a leading researcher of vaccines had this to say during a CBC interview late last week. "The world will not be completely vaccinated for two years." South America and the African continent are two large areas where testing will be required to mitigate the issues arising from a slow rate of vaccinating.

* Dr. Hotez was a member of the research group that developed the current mRNA vaccine methodology ....that started approximately 10 years ago. They did this and immediately put it into the public domain so that it could not be patented ....and would therefore lead to the possibility of cheaper vaccines .....AWEmazing!!!

I would add that even countries(eg. UK) who are way ahead of the curve in vaccinating their citizens are still pushing rapid antigen or rapid antibody testing.

Furthermore, the only way to determine the extent of the immune system response post vaccination is to TEST. No one at this stage has any idea as to the longevity of the effectiveness of the vaccine. Whether as a population sample or concerns by an individual .....testing will be ongoing.

So it's a completely disingenuous and misinformed narrative to suggest that testing will stop anytime in the near future. Obviously some types of covid tests in some countries will be less useful but that in no way suggests anything about testing in general.

GLTE .....holding patiently and long on THRM!!!

Thank you for the update!!

Market for test kits will diminish, happening with every vaccination. People that have been vaccinated and a second dose will not be panicking and rushing in to get tested every time they have a sore throat or runny nose as in the past. Don't need an "expert" to understand this fact.
Comment by Smokey1958 on May 10, 2021 3:11pm
Clearly you're not an expert ...and you don't consider that over 4 billion people on the planet have yet to be vaccinated. Of course the market for test kits will diminish just not at the rate you seem to be implying. If you were correct ...and you're not ....companies currently seeking approval or testing their devices for approval would stop ....why spend more money? The fact is ...more

And don't forget about the people who aren't going to get vaccinated. The US alone will have approx. 60-90 million anti-vaxxers and Republicans.

So what's your slant ...are you here to save us from our own DD and risk tolerance? You've ?never? posted on this board until today ...do you actually hold shares? Another disingenuous poster ...looking to get cheaper shares?

You obviously haven’t followed up on the thousands of breakthrough cases recorded in the USA alone, not to mention all the ones not reported.. take a look at what’s happening in the Seychelles since they started vaccinating back in December.. pre dec. they had only had 500 ish cases and 1 death.. since then it has exploded and 62.5% are vaccinated.. testing will never end.. I agree thousands of tests needed. Five thousand here and there. Not 100s of millions. People that don't want the vaccine are the same people that don't run to the hospital for testing. Half the world or more has never even had a test and probably never will.
Comment by moonball32 on May 10, 2021 5:32pm
Tom you are sadly wrong, testing will be around for some time, 5,000 tests, are you kidding me ? I think you should stick to the agra board, you get more attention there
Comment by TomConstantine on May 10, 2021 5:38pm
If you actually go outside and go to a majority of hospitals in the world they are functioning normally, even less people than normal, especially North America.
Comment by moonball32 on May 10, 2021 5:59pm
Really, see what is going on in India, Japan, Africa, ya your right hospitals are going back to normal ?? What is you point posting here, you state absurd statements with no proof. Do you really think everyone believes that you are more dialed into the pandemic then anyone else, WRONG !! Stick to the other board, you have ZERO credibility here and each of your posts reinforces that point.
Comment by TheScientist01 on May 10, 2021 6:15pm
Literally.. HOW DUMB ARE YOU? Have you beeen to these hospitals or know anyone who works there? Do you watch the news? Hospitals are so burdened with Covid patients that they have to cancel other surgeries and pocedures. People are DYING because of this cancellation of "non-essential" surgeries in addition to people with COVID. Are you living under a rock? or is your world a small town ...more

I've been to lots of them and have checked in with over 35 doctors and surgeons that I know around the world. The ICUs are small in every hospital that's why it seems so excessive. You're seeing a very small amount of hospitals with no space. You have the ability to see for yourself and stop the obsession with the internet.

We can't buy stupidities, he was born with them I guess!
Comment by TomConstantine on May 10, 2021 6:57pm
Scary how messed up you guys are from the internet. Try going to a hospital in North America or Europe, Australia New Zealand and you'll see little to nothing.
Comment by moonball32 on May 10, 2021 7:38pm
Curious, did any of the 35 doctors you spoke with tell you to stop eating crayons ?
Comment by Smokey1958 on May 10, 2021 7:47pm
So once again, you choose Western situations, the two countries that got it right from the outset (New Zealand and Australia) and Europe where as I have posted, they are using millions of tests to make sure they got it right .....and that's your world view.  ....and your best response is I know some doctors ....where, yes, in the countries mentioned. Clearly you accuse individuals here ...more

What exactly are your credentials TomConstantine?
Comment by TomConstantine on May 10, 2021 6:53pm
You're right on that more people are dying from other ailments because they can't get basic surgeries that shouldn't have been canceled in the first place. More people have died horrible deaths in their homes because they are fixated on the news and scared to go to a hospital to get treatment. If you want videos of the empty and normally functioning hospitals here in a city of 2 ...more
